Personal Interests

Emily is married and she has a two year old daughter. When she has free time she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, live music, and trying out new restaurants.

Emily grew up in Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnati for her Bachelors degree in Nursing. She began working full time as a labor and delivery nurse when she realized she wanted the ability to build relationships with patients beyond the short interaction she had with them in L&D. She wanted the ability to follow them throughout all stages of their lifespan. She decided to return to the University of Cincinnati to obtain her Masters degree in Nursing with a focus in Nurse-Midwifery where she graduated at the top of her class.

Her goal as a provider is to provide compassionate care in a relaxing atmosphere where her patients feel like they are talking with their sister or friend. She hopes with this approach her patients will feel comfortable discussing all of their women’s health concerns. Her focus is on providing education, choices, and support to all women so that they feel empowered and confident about the care that they are receiving. She provides care to women beginning at the onset of menses, throughout pregnancy, during labor and delivery, and beyond menopause. Emily is excited to join BVWC and expand access to midwifery care in the Brazos Valley.
