Gynecology - Health Exam
The Brazos Valley Women's Center strives to provide annual health care for women of all ages. we strive to provide complete evaluation and treatment or women of all ages for preventative health care. The following evaluations are available at the Brazos Valley Women's Center af follows.
The annual examination includegs a complete physical exam with a history and physical of the patient as well as an evaluation of their medications and past medical history. Next, each year the patient has their complete vital signs taken, and an evaluation of their current health profile.
Review of their status with regard to their need for periodic examination is
reviewed, such as mammograms, blood work, laboratory, and special needs
such as colonoscopy, etc.
Their annual laboratory routinely includes a urinanalysis. Blood work is based on the patient's chemistry profile, including complete liver profile which would include cholesterol, blood sugar, and thyroid evaluation is recommended.
Patients over age 50 are recommended to have a colonoscopy at ten (10) year intervals unless they have family history or past medical histories that would require otherwise and referrals are available.
Patient's vaccination history is taken and vaccinations are readily available at the Brazos Valley Women's Center. These include varicella (chicken pox), rubella (measles), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), hepatitis A and B, influenza, Gardasil, meningitis, to name the most common.
Referrals to specialist physicians are readily available at the Brazos Valley Women's Center. These might include: orthopedics; cardiology; gastroenterology; endocrinology; neurology; rheumatology; chiropractic; physical therapy; ear, nose, and throat to name a few.
Recommendations at the time of the visit might iclude other evaluations such as psychology and dietician evaluation, which are available in house.
In addition, non-gynecologic services are available such as treatment of relatively mild hypertension, asthma, hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), evaluations such as cold and flu and other general maladies.
